POSITION SUMMARY

The Inventory/Point of Sales Associate provides daily inventories, daily books assistance, and verification of product codes. Provides scan data for inventory departments and subsequently ensures accuracy of data before submission. Responsible for assistance with daily book keeping process and procedures so as to ensure accuracy and accountability of all daily cash and sales, the lnventory/POS Associate is also responsible for assistance with ensuring all required daily and monthly paperwork is completed as per policy. This is an hourly non-exempt position that reports to the Lead POS Associate and Inventory Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provides daily scan data of inventory departments.
  • Ensures accuracy of scan data by "double count" before submission.
  • Verification of product codes to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Assist inventory manager to ensure inventory control of product stock level.
  • Assist store customers with purchases of tobacco products, pre-packed liquor products, and other store items. Provide excellent service to customers and maintain high standards of store image.
  • Review daily change funds and orders as needed to ensure daily operations have sufficient change to conduct business.
  • Ensures daily sales reports are pulled for application of bookkeeping. Ensures staff maintains "double count" practices on all cash counts.
  • Prepares daily cashiers over/short reports. Ensures all daily books are completed and submitted to finance on a daily basis.
  • Operate cash register, including opening and closing of till operations. Maintain daily shift accountability of all monies, credit, debit and voids/refunds, house charges.
  • Comply with laws and policies regarding AGE RESTRICTED SALES.
  • Comply with proper paperwork procedures and cash over/short policies.
  • Adhere to established work schedule. Consistently arrive at work and on time; ensure work responsibilities are covered when absent; arrive at meetings and appointments on time.
  • Complete daily checklist items.
  • Establish and maintain effective work relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties.
  • Observe safety and security procedures; determine appropriate action beyond guidelines; report potentially unsafe conditions; use equipment and materials properly.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • H.S. diploma or GED required.
  • Current Food Handler Permit required.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Experience in retail sales, customer service, and cashiering preferred. Experience/knowledge of money handling and accountability for store monies and one or more years' basic money counting and bookkeeping in a retail environment preferred.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals required.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written information and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug screenings.
  • Must pass background check.

Additional Information

  • Compensation is $15.75 per hour.
  • Up to 40 hours per week as scheduled.
