To provide administrative support to the Executive Director of the Gaming Commission. To provide the best support possible in answering the telephone, forwarding calls, creating reports and correspondence, and taking messages. Must stay current on all SGC departmental information.


  • Serve as focal point for disseminating of updated policies, procedures and related documents. Ensure common documents such as MICS and policy manuals are updated throughout the SGC to ensure timeliness, accuracy and consistency of all documents. Work with SGC personnel and SGC Commissioners and provide administrative support when needed including travel arrangements and reconciliation of purchasing cards.
  • Provide clerical support; prepare correspondence, reports, menus and other similar work to assist SGC Executive Director and SGC Commissioners.
  • Issues, tracks and audits purchase orders and SGC expenditures.
  • Maintains office supply inventory and orders office supplies as necessary.
  • Prepare, collate and bind reports, manuals, papers and technical documents as directed.
  • Reserves meeting space and coordinates refreshment orders.
  • Record and transcribe Gaming Commission meeting minutes.
  • Maintain and operate all department office equipment including copy machines, facsimile machine, computers, and binding machine.
  • Remain current on all WSGC, NIGC, SGC, and Casino information.
  • Maintain office area in a highly presentable condition.
  • Assist licensing intake function (process license application, fingerprint and maintain licensing database) as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2 years previous administrative support experience or comparable experience required.
  • Previous executive support experience preferred.
  • Typing skills of 45-50 wpm.
  • General working knowledge of office equipment and practices required.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment where the resolution of complex tasks is required.
  • Must be detail oriented, highly accurate and organized.
  • Operational knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat is required.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Must have strong communication skills, able to work independently and be team oriented.


  • Trained or will obtain training on a licensing system.


  • Must demonstrate sensitivity to Native American culture.
  • Must be able to obtain a Gaming License.
  • Must be able to interact with guests, coworkers, state representatives, federal representatives, and the Casino's entire workforce in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Must follow all safety rules and regulations.
