Guard, patrol, and monitor Snoqualmie Indian Tribe Administration and Court buildings. Prevent theft, violence, and traffic congestion. Communicate and enforce Tribal laws, policies, memos, and codes to ensure safety and security.


  • Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of all Tribal premises in Snoqualmie. Specific emphasis on employee and member safety and removing any unauthorized persons from Tribal Facilities.
  • Call the Tribal Chief of Police, city police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons, if necessary.
  • Monitor video security cameras. Answer alarms and investigate disturbances.
  • Circulate among visitors, patrons, or employees to preserve order and protect property.
  • Monitor and respond to Public Safety email, wireless radios, and telephone communications. Take messages, answer questions, and provide information when needed or assigned.
  • Maintain a daily work log and visitor sign-in log. Send the daily work log to the Police Chief at the end of each shift.
  • Warn persons of rule infractions or violations, and apprehend or evict violators from premises, using only the needed force, as directed by the Police Chief.
  • Unlock doors when facility opens and lock doors and set alarms when facility closes. (Exceptions may be authorized in writing by management personnel.)
  • Drive the Tribal security pick-up on daily rounds to check on security at all other Tribal facilities in the upper valley. This includes but is not limited to, the Annex, Snoqualmie Tobacco Company store, North Bend clinic, and other sites.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Note: This job is not subject to Tribal resolution 135-08 allowing Tribal employees to attend Tribal Council meetings, as this position is required to provide security for facilities at all times, while on duty. Leaving this post to attend Tribal Council meetings is considered job neglect and abandonment.


  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years' security experience preferred.
  • Must have a valid Washington State Driver's License. This position requires local travel.
  • Must have the physical ability and stamina to perform all aspects of the position.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug screenings and pre-employment background check.

  • Works 8 hours per day between the hours of 5am - 12am, depending on assigned shift; includes a paid meal period. Some overtime and weekend hours are necessary.
