The Elders' Program Coordinator plans, organizes, and coordinates cultural programs and services for Snoqualmie Tribe Elders. Assist in facilitating various cultural events and activities, such as culture and language classes, traditional skills classes, canoe journey, and retreats and conference. Advise tribal members and Elders' program participants regarding program content, policies, procedures, and activities and make recommendations as appropriate. This is a non-exempt position that reports to the Director of Culture.


  • Plan, organize and coordinate Elders' program services, events, and activities with department staff. Serve as primary resource for Tribal Elders and staff.
  • Manage all necessary material requests, check requests, and support material to ensure Elders Program project completion and budget guidelines.
  • Be present, respectful, and participate in various Tribal cultural and public events, meetings, and activities. Positively represent the Tribe at all times.
  • Share information with tribal members, staff, and local communities on Snoqualmie history, culture, and language traditions. Work closely with groups and individuals to help build and maintain positive relationships.
  • Assist with event and activities set-up and tear-down.
  • Monitor program activities as related to established program goals. Make appropriate recommendations and assist supervisor with planning of department goals and objectives.
  • Manage program records and information. Gather, compile, and analyze data and prepare reports.
  • Maintain confidentiality and communicate with tact and discretion.
  • Participate in department meetings and trainings as appropriate. Participate in continuing education as required and/or needed to fulfill job duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Working knowledge of Snoqualmie Indian Tribe and other Northwest Tribal cultures, history, and traditions required.
  • Excellent customer service skills and written and verbal communication. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
  • Effective problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and use tact and discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills and accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Valid unrestricted Washington State driver's license required. Qualified driving record required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Must be able to pass random and pre-employment drug screening.
  • Must pass background check.


An office environment in a controlled atmosphere building with a travel requirement of up to 15% of a given month using a GSA vehicle.
